The MGP1008, ITU-T based GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) OLT (Optical Line Terminal) system is designed to power the service providers delivering Triple-play services and giving unmatched performance along with space and power savings.
The MGP1008 complied with ITU-T G.984.1-4 standard is the high performance OLT supporting 2.5Gbps for downstream bandwidth and 1.25Gbps upstream bandwidth and provides Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation to support video, VoIP and other applications.
The MGP1008 mountable on the standard 19 inch rack features compact design, high port density per rack – one of the industries densest OLT, easy installation and handy configuration capability.
The MGP1008 with built-in high performance switch supports Ethernet base Layer 2 switching function, and provides 8 PON ports supporting up to 512 subscribers using Class B+ optics, and uplink interfaces of up to 4 of 10/100/1000 Base-Tx, 4 of 1000Base-X or 2 of 10GbE. It also provides an Ethernet port and a console port for easy debug and management purposes.
The MGP1008 supports such additional Layer 2 functions as STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), Link aggregation, port-based VLAN, 802.1Q, mirroring and DHCP relay and IGMP snooping/proxy for efficient transmission of multicast traffic.
The MGP1008 series supports powerful packet filtering (Layer 1 to Layer 4) functions and IP QoS for service security and quality improvement, NetBEUI/ NetBIOS filtering, private DHCP server packet filtering and MAC address limitation per port can be realized through such packet filtering function.
