DESSS incorporates the set up of C2Net Stronghold (CSR), which includes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to enhance security and reliability. Stronghold keys and certificates are managed through three scripts:
1. Genkey
2. Getca
3. Genre
These are part of the normal Stronghold distribution. DESSS developers are using C2 Net Stronghold since it enables http web applications and a form-based configuration manager. C2Net Stronghold is an open-source program usually incorporates proprietary extensions that add significant value. In addition, C2Net's Stronghold Web server adds strong encryption and other features to Apache.
