DESSS helps you to create master data of customers and materials:
Creating customer and master data is an important aspect of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) consulting. Customer and master data provide the foundation for an organization's sales and distribution processes and are used to support various activities such as sales order processing, billing, and delivery.
Customer Data
Customer data is the information that an organization collects and maintains about its customers. This includes basic information such as the customer's name, address, and contact information, as well as more detailed information such as payment terms, credit limit, and billing address. Customer data is critical to an organization's sales and distribution processes and is used to support activities such as sales order processing, billing, and delivery. With the help of SAP Sales and Distribution Consulting, organizations can create and maintain accurate and up-to-date customer data, improving the efficiency and accuracy of their sales and distribution processes.
Master Data
Master data is the foundational data that an organization uses to support its sales and distribution processes. This includes data such as product information, pricing, and delivery schedules. Master data is used to support sales order processing, billing, and delivery and is critical to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of these processes. With the help of DESSS SAP SD consulting, organizations can create and maintain accurate and up-to-date master data, improving the efficiency and accuracy of their sales and distribution processes.
Data Validation
One of the key benefits of SAP SD consulting is the ability to validate and enforce data quality rules. This includes rules such as ensuring that customer data is complete and up-to-date, and that product information is accurate and consistent. Data validation rules help to ensure that the data that is used to support sales and distribution processes is accurate and reliable, reducing the risk of errors and improving the efficiency of these processes.
Integration with Other Systems
Another benefit of SAP SD consulting is the ability to integrate customer and master data with other systems and processes. This includes the integration of SAP SD with other SAP modules, such as Financials and Supply Chain Management, as well as the integration of SAP SD with non-SAP systems and services. Integration helps to eliminate the need for manual data entry and reduces the risk of errors and inconsistencies, leading to improved efficiency and accuracy.

With the help of SAP Sales and Distribution Consulting, organizations can create and maintain accurate and up-to-date customer data, improving the efficiency and accuracy of their sales and distribution processes. This can lead to improved customer relationships by enabling organizations to respond to customer inquiries and issues quickly and effectively, improving the overall customer experience. Additionally, SAP SD solutions provide real-time access to customer data, enabling organizations to make informed decisions about pricing, discounts, and promotions, helping to improve their sales results.
Better Decision Making
DESSS can help organizations to make better decisions about their sales and distribution operations by providing real-time access to up-to-date information and data. SAP SD in ECC uses the traditional transaction-based architecture with separate tables for sales documents, while SAP SD in S/4HANA runs on the simplified HANA database, offering real-time analytics, a unified data model, and the Fiori-based user interface. Organizations on ECC can migrate their SD configuration to S/4HANA, though certain custom developments and reports typically need to be redesigned for the new data structure. DESSS supports both ECC-based SD support and S/4HANA migration projects.
Yes. SAP SD is tightly integrated with SAP FICO for revenue recognition, billing document posting, and accounts receivable, and with SAP MM for stock availability checks, delivery processing, and procurement-to-sales workflows. This integration ensures that a sales order automatically triggers the correct financial postings and inventory updates without manual data entry, reducing errors across departments.
Implementation timelines vary based on business complexity, but a standard SAP SD rollout for a mid-sized organization typically takes 3 to 6 months, covering requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and user training. Larger enterprises with multiple sales organizations, currencies, or country-specific requirements may require 6 to 12 months. DESSS follows an Agile delivery approach with phased go-lives to reduce implementation risk.
Yes. SAP SD includes dedicated functionality for volume-based and value-based customer rebate agreements, as well as full consignment process support covering fill-up, issue, pickup, and returns. These features are commonly used by manufacturing and distribution companies that manage long-term customer contracts or maintain inventory at customer locations.
